Initial assessment using portage early development checklist – cognitive, self help, socialisation, language (speech and comprehend), motor (gross and fine).  

General classroom activities plus others that have been introduced at different times and developed.

-         Socialisation games

-         Art & craft

-         Makaton (sign language)

-         Reading readiness and reading

-         Table game

-         Ports and outdoor games

-         Colour matching

-         Dressing

-         Patterns and sequences

-         Sand and water play

-         Outings (educational/ interest/ entertainment/ transfer of learning)

-         Jigsaws

-         Music

-         Sitting room activities – play etc (cars, Lego, dollhouse etc. plastic food and eating equipment)

-         Children’s videos (daytime-educational; evening-cartoons etc)  

On a regular basis local children have been joining residents for most of the above (primary school classes are mornings or afternoons).
